5 Reasons to Check Out the Webster County Nature Tour

The 56th Webster County Nature Tour is sponsored by the Webster Springs Garden Club, in the beautiful hills of Webster County. What started out as a 1-day event has expanded into a full 3-day weekend, including lodging, meals and nightly entertainment.

If you’ve never been, we highly recommend checking it out. To get you started, we have provided five highlights you won’t want to miss at this year’s tour scheduled for May 4-6:

1. For Locals & Visitors Alike
The organizers have accommodations and options for everyone. For locals they have choices that provide meals or just pay for the tour and for visitors there are accommodation packages provided for the COMPLETE Nature Tour experience!

2. Tours for Everyone
From rugged trails to gentle hikes they have the perfect tour for everyone. With 5 different tour options led by experienced and informative guides, you will surely find the one that meets your needs and interests and highlight Webster County’s abundant nature and scenery. Driving and walking tours are available this year and topics explored will range from native flowers to rare ferns.

3. Historic & Rustic Lodging
Camp Caesar is the base for the Webster County Nature Tour. You’ll have the option of lodging in their rustic log and stone cabins, surrounded by the beautiful Monongahela National Forest.

4. The NEW Holly River State Park Tour
Led by Tom Prall, this will be an educational old growth tour featuring older and larger trees in the park, along with a variety of flowers and ferns. The Holly River Tour will be a little more rugged and include a climb of about 500 feet. We recommend you bring a trekking or walking pole.

5. Music & More
Saturday evening you’ll be greeted with music and entertainment by The Band Wagon from Hamlin, WV. Expect plenty of dancing and enjoy refreshments and door prizes throughout the night. Sunday morning concludes our event with bird watching or a meditation walk along with breakfast – then we’ll say farewell and “See You Next Year”!

Check-In will begin at 3:00p.m. on Friday, May 4th with refreshments.
