Unique Lodging Spotlight: The Blue Iris Inn

There’s so much to explore in Webster County, you are bound to stay the night but just where do you stay? There are several options from rustic, riverside cabins to motels, and ample campgrounds for a more primitive night, but what if you’re looking for a more modern, elegant feel? We have just the place for you.

Located above Minnich’s Flower and Gift Shop in the heart of downtown Webster Springs is the Blue Iris Inn. The Blue Iris Inn is one of Webster County’s newest Air BnB’s and is sure to tie together your visit to Webster County. Webster County native, Penny Graham and her husband Chris recently returned to Webster County and the three-bedroom, one-bathroom renovated apartment is just one of the couple’s newest projects. The couple paired Penny’s love for design with Chris’ construction background to become Webster’s own mini Chip and Joanna Gaines. We sat down with Chris and Penny to hear more about what truly makes the Blue Iris Inn so unique to Webster County:

Q: What makes the Blue Iris Inn a unique lodging option in Webster County?

A: For starters, it’s a fully renovated, large downtown apartment that puts guests in the heart of downtown Webster Springs. They’re within walking distance to the many restaurants, shops, and even Bakers Island Recreation area.

Q: What can guests expect when they stay at the Blue Iris Inn?

A: Guests can expect modern conveniences but with a 1920’s charm you don’t see very often anymore. We worked hard to tastefully decorate this space to something guests will appreciate. We also pride ourselves on how ultra-clean the space stays. We work hard to make sure it is spotless for each and every guest. There is also plenty of space including a separate dining room, game room, and laundry room. And guests rave about the fully equipped kitchen and especially the concrete countertops all created and installed by Chris himself.

Q: What are the accommodations?

A: The accommodations at the Blue Iris Inn include three bedrooms and an air mattress. Eight guests can sleep comfortably at the Blue Iris Inn. Amenities in the Blue Iris Inn include WiFi, laptop-friendly workspace, washer, and dryer in the building, air conditioning, central heat and so much more.

Q: What is your favorite part of the Blue Iris Inn?

A: Our favorite part of the Blue Iris Inn is that it is such an unexpected space in such a small town, but specifically, the expansive living room looking out over the town.

While downtown Webster Springs is the perfect central location for all of Webster County, the inn is located within an hour of Snowshoe Mountain in Pocahontas County making it a perfect place to lay your head after a day on the mountain – without paying those mountain prices. With its spacious living spaces, fully equipped kitchen and several bedrooms keep the Blue Iris Inn in mind for your family holidays!

And the owners Chris and Penny are pretty spectacular also… If you’re in the area, it’s a must.” On AirBnB their “Super Host” rating is backed up by reviews like this one from Whitney, “This property is awesome.
