Holly River is the second largest park in the West Virginia park system with a total of 8,101 acres. Nestled in a narrow valley, the park is surrounded by heavily forested mountains some reaching heights of over 2,800 feet. There are many miles of hiking trails within the park, ranging from very easy to very difficult. Facilities include cabins, campgrounds, nature trails, picnic and playground area, baseball field, swimming pool, restaurant, meeting hall, and facilities for individual and group sports. The Left Fork of the Holly River flows through the park offering trout fishing opportunities. Be sure to visit the historic Windy Gap School one-room schoolhouse.
