Opening day for Park Pool and Naturalist Program
The Holly River State Park pool and Naturalist Program kicks off for the 2025 season on Saturday May 24th! The Windy Gap School Museum will also open on Saturdays and Sundays 1:00 PM- 4:00 PM until Labor Day.

Irish Road Bowling
The Annual Irish Road Bowling Competition is Saturday October 11, 2025 . Held in a deep valley, one of the tour’s most beautiful roads, the Holly River State Park Fall Challenge features October colors, a trout stream, rhododendron thickets, a bridge to loft over, and a massive stone pavilion. Holly River State Park will have their annual Halloween Trunk or Treat Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 5:00pm- 7:00 pm! Costumes welcome but are not required Cars will enter at campground check-in, park near or before Area 4 bathhouse. Trick or Treaters then walk to the lower campsites and return to their cars, and exit back at the campground check-in station. Anyone wishing to provide a Treat or Treat stop in the campground, please set up by 5:00 pm that evening.…
