4 Reasons to Check Out the Webster County Nature Tour

The 57th Webster County Nature Tour is sponsored by the Webster Springs Garden Club in the beautiful hills of Webster County. This ever-evolving event has grown into a full three-day weekend celebration which will be held May 3rd through May 5th centered at Camp Caesar.

Whether you’re a local, a tourist, return visitor or first-time guest, this is a Webster County event you do not want to miss! To get you excited, here are five highlights of this year’s tour:

  1. Make a weekend out of it! Whether you’re coming from down the street or a couple of counties away make a weekend out of it! Lodging is available in rustic cabins and all meals, tours, and entertainment are included. Pricing options start at $20 for a tour to $130 for the full weekend of meals, lodging, tours, and entertainment. You can read about all the different pricing options here.
  2. There’s something for everyone! From rugged trails to gentle hikes, there is a perfect tour for everyone! Five different tours will be led by experienced and informative guides so the entire family will be sure to find a tour to fit their needs and interests all while highlighting Webster County’s abundant nature and scenery.
  3. The Tours! The tours change every year so there is always something new for participants! This year some of the feature tours are the Elk River Mountain, Cranberry Glades, Bishop Knob, Backfork of the Elk and Kingfisher Run. There are tours your entire group will enjoy.
  4. Music and more! Friday night there will be an educational program on bird banding, featuring Tom Fox. After exploring the beauty of Webster County, kick off your hiking boots and enjoy the sounds of local bluegrass musicians! Expect plenty of dancing, enjoy refreshments and door prizes throughout the night.

Check-in will begin at 3:00 pm Friday, May 3rd with refreshments. Those planning to stay at Camp Caesar are advised to bring a sleeping bag or sheets and blankets, pillow and towel/washcloth. All participants should have warm clothing, sturdy hiking shoes, rain gear, backpack, and a camera.
