Marteka and William hail from the hills of Hacker Valley and have made an international name for themselves at the forefront of what they call their True Grass Revival. The young adult brother and sister are inspired by the first generation bluegrass style of Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs, as evidenced by Marteka’s adept Scruggs-inspired banjo picking and William’s Flatt-picking and singing style. They are expertly joined by Kirk Bowman, Marteka’s now-husband, on mandolin and harmony vocals. Rounding out the group is dad Charlie Lake, every steady on the stand-up bass.
