Mountain Parkway Byway and Backway

Mountain Parkway

The Mountain Parkway Byway and Backway winds through the valleys and over the hills of Northern Webster County. Designated by the WV Department of Highways in 1998, the Backway covers some 45 miles and the Byway spans over 10 miles with informative signage at several locations. The area offers a wide range of interesting and unique historic, cultural, and scenic sites for visitors to enjoy. Also, a variety of crafters along the route offer unique products including pottery, baskets, wood crafts and handmade jewelry. Throughout the year there are activities including the Holly River Festival, Irish Road Bowling, Jerry Run Summer Theater, ramp dinners and more.
